April 2025
JD Edwards Release 25 drives innovation by automating, optimizing, and transforming business processes, reflecting ORACLE's continued investment in its customers' digital transformation.
The following are the most important technology upgrades, and to organize them, we have divided them into 4 categories:
What are the upgrades?
1.1 Augmenting JD Edwards EnterpriseOne with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Services (including AI Services)
This enhancement allows JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to natively integrate with over 150 services available on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), which now includes Artificial Intelligence services. All communication is securely conducted through the Orchestrator component, which, via REST API calls, can connect with OCI services such as Generative AI, Vision, Document Understanding or Object Storage.
A potential case study could involve the following steps: JD Edwards, via Orchestrator, transmits an image to the OCI Object Storage service. It then invokes the OCI Vision service to analyse the uploaded image and integrates the results of the analysis into the EnterpriseOne Quality Management process.
This enhancement is available to all JD Edwards EnterpriseOne customers, regardless of whether their platform is in OCI, another public cloud or on-premises architecture.
1.2 Platform Certifications
This Tools Release includes the following platform certifications:
- Oracle Database 23ai on Oracle Base Database Service (Linux) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
- Microsoft Edge Chromium 134
- IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0.5.22
- Mozilla Firefox ESR 128
- Safari 18.3 on iPad (iOS 18)
- Apple iOS 18
- Google Chrome 134
2.1 EnterpriseOne Widgets
The new Widgets evolve the concept of One View Watchlists, allowing the data source to come from an Orchestration or Logic Extensions. This extends the possibilities beyond simple log counts: calculated or aggregated metrics can now be displayed, such as the average purchase order approval cycle time over the last 12 months.
In addition, Widgets allow for more comprehensive visualizations, such as bar charts or gauges that help monitor KPIs in real time. All this, without losing the low-code/no-code simplicity that characterizes Watchlists, allowing designers to create dynamic and customized visual dashboards directly from EnterpriseOne.
2.2 My Tasks
Messages generated by Orchestrator now also appear in the notification list. In addition, messages containing tracked tasks are easily identifiable, helping users to prioritize and complete critical tasks with greater agility.
2.3 Enhanced Comparative Criteria
Enhanced Comparative CriteriaThe Orchestrator capabilities (Form Requests, Data Requests, Logic Extensions and AIS API queries) have been extended so that, when comparing data, you can use data obtained in the left and right operators, not just the left one. For example: “Request Date > Promised Date”. This enhances contextual analysis and automation based on more complex business rules.
2.4 Comparative Criteria in Consultations and Watchlists
This enhancement allows queries and Watchlists to be more dynamic and intelligent by enabling the possibility to compare fields directly within the form. For example, a condition such as “Request Date > Promised Date” can be created without the need for fixed values.
This means that users can detect exceptions and make proactive decisions based on contextual rules, which strengthens operational analysis capabilities and the automation of business-critical alerts.
2.5 Alert When Editing Components of a Shared Orchestration
Users are now alerted if they attempt to edit a published Orchestration without previously reserving it, thus avoiding working in a scenario where changes cannot be saved.
2.6 Translatable input tags in Orchestrations
This functionality extends the capabilities of executing orchestrations, notifications and logical extensions from EnterpriseOne pages and form extensions by allowing not only customizing input field labels, but also translating them into multiple languages.
This significantly improves the overall user experience, ensuring that automations are more accessible, understandable and aligned with business languages in multilingual environments.
2.7 Watchlists in EnterpriseOne page connectors
This enhancement extends the value of EnterpriseOne pages-especially those representing process models-by visualizing key metrics about the relationship between consecutive steps in a business flow.
For example, it is now possible to monitor how many transactions are queued or moving between steps, providing accurate, real-time operational visibility. This makes it possible to identify bottlenecks, anticipate delays and optimize the efficiency of business processes.
2.8 Restricting access to files in the AIS temporary directory
For orchestrations that exchange files via FTP or REST connectors, this functionality incorporates an additional layer of administrative control over where files are temporarily stored on the AIS server.
System administrators can restrict file storage exclusively to the temporary AIS directory, or allow orchestration designers to define an absolute path within the server's file system. This improves security, compliance and control over server usage without limiting design flexibility.
2.9 Application version as variable in message links
This feature improves the links included in messages by allowing the designer to use the application version as a variable within the orchestration, instead of hardcoding it.
Thanks to this, the version can be configured dynamically: either by passing the value as input in an orchestration or notification, or by calculating it automatically in a previous step of the same orchestration.
For example, suppose one of the tasks within the recruitment process is to verify the candidate's information in the Address Book record.
If the candidate is a new applicant, the link could launch the Applicant version of the Address Book (ZJDE0003); but if the candidate is a current employee, then the link could open the corresponding Employee version (ZJDE0002).
3.1 Web Package Build Definition: Direct Access to Log and Output Files
The Web Package Build Definition application now allows you to view build logs directly, without having to access the logs in the traditional way.
3.2 Server Manager: EnterpriseOne Page Clear Cache
System administrators can now clear the E1PAGES cache from Server Manager to view changes immediately.
3.3 Synchronized Cache Clear Between Enterprise Server and HTML Server
System administrators can automatically clear the Enterprise Server and its associated HTML server caches with a single click.
3.4 Improved Performance with TCP Fast Open on Oracle Autonomous Database Serverless
Customers using Oracle Autonomous Database Serverless can now benefit from improved performance thanks to TCP Fast Open. This feature reduces network latency and enhances application performance for client connections.
4.1 Automatic Negotiation of TLS Version for Secure Communication Files
Communication between various components is now automatically configured with TLS security, eliminating the need to manually set up TLS connections as was previously required.
